The classes are such fun and the girls who have attended

About Us
Dotty About Cake is a new, fresh and stylish cake business based in the beautiful city of York. We have spent a number of months perfecting our cupcakes to ensure they are just perfect, at the right price and of a quality that will delight.
Predominantly focused on Cup Cakes Dotty About Cake is able to cater for a wide range of needs and of course if you need bespoke designs and a normal tasty fare then we can cater for that too.

Our kitchen has been extended, refurbished and designed to the highest standard. This is where all of our cupcakes are designed, tested (by Finlay often) and baked. Click on the thumbnails to view a larger image.
A Little Bit About Me
"As a busy, working mum I took the step to devote my time to doing something I love and to do something that helped me spend more time with my son Finlay.
Dotty About Cake is my way of doing that something and I feel the pride, passion and love, that I have for baking, comes through in the cakes I make.
'Finnie' certainly agrees but I need to
ensure he doesn't get too many cakes - and at 5 years old - he will eat as many as he can if he had his way!"

Flavours
Below are our most popular flavours, however, there are many more flavours and topping combinations available so please do not hesitate to ask for something if you do not see it below.
 Light vanilla sponge using Madagascan vanilla extract usually topped with vanilla buttercream for that classic all vanilla taste. Many other toppings work equally as well including chocolate buttercream, chocolate ganache, lemon buttercream, orange buttercream and fondant icing.  Light lemon sponge made with lemon zest topped with luscious lemon buttercream using freshly squeezed lemon juice and lemon curd.  Moist chocolate sponge using Green and Blacks cocoa with a choice of milk chocolate buttercream (milk, dark or white) or chocolate ganache.  Moist chocolate sponge using Green and Blacks cocoa topped with peppermint buttercream and dark chocolate shavings.  An all American classic deep red chocolate flavoured sponge smothered in vanilla buttercream. Ideal for Valentines Day or a loved on any day of the year!  Moist ginger (Yorkshire parkin) sponge that works particularly well with an orange buttercream topping using freshly squeezed orange juice. A favourite in the Dotty About Cake house........................well we are from Yorkshire after all!  A moist carrot cake sponge topped with vanilla or orange buttercream.  Light sponge with a mixture of nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon and clove to add that festive feel. These can of course be eaten any time of the year and work particularly well with unflavoured fondant icing so you can enjoy the full flavour of the spices in the sponge.  Almond flavoured sponge filled with cherry jam, topped with almond buttercream and finished with a cherry on top. This is truly a household favourite! |
Ordering
As all our cupcakes are freshly baked to order we usually require at least 36 hours notice, however, we may be able to accommodate
more urgent requests so please do not hesitate to call.
A 30% deposit is required to confirm your order and the balance is to be paid upon collection/delivery. For orders of 60+
cupcakes the balance must be paid 7 days before collection/delivery. At certain times of the year (Christmas, easter, valentines day etc)
we are very busy so if you need to place an order during these periods please give as much notice as possible.

Prices
| • | Individual cupcakes start at £1.50 each (minimum order of 12) for a cupcake topped with a plain buttercream swirl. |
| • | Customised designs start at £1.80 each and the final cost will depend upon the complexity of the design. |
| • | Giant Cupcakes start at £35.00. |
| • | 6 inch cakes for the top of a tower start at £25 for a fully iced sponge cake with ribbon on. |
We do not believe in inflated prices for weddings and other special occasion so in line with the prices above our cupcakes start at £1.50.
Delivery
You are welcome to collect your cupcakes or, if you prefer, we can personally deliver within a 5 mile radius of YO24 for £3.95. For deliveries further afield (25 mile radius of YO24 1JX) please contact us for prices. If you require us to set up the stand and cupcakes at your venue there will be an additional charge for this which starts at £20 to cover set up time.

After spending the last twenty four months, and thousands of Cupcakes later, we perfected our creative classes aimed at individuals and groups looking to learn a new skill, have an enjoyable day with friends or to provide a unique gift for a loved one (fellas - get the message - it's a big enough hint).
